THE AWARD CEREMONY OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM "ARKADAG" TOOK PLACE

Large-scale celebrations dedicated to the triumphant victory of the local football club “Arkadag” in the international tournament – the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge League of the 2024-2025 season took place in the city of Arkadag.

The festive events began with a ceremonial ride of the football players on the club bus along the central avenues of the city – Akhan, Aba Annayev and Kyarizek. Thousands of fans and residents of the city of Arkadag greeted the athletes all the way to the multifunctional ten-thousand-seat stadium of the new city.

During the official part of the ceremony, the head of the Arkadag football club, former captain of the national team of Turkmenistan Arslanmurat Amanov addressed the mayor of the city with an initiative to transfer the entire amount of the cash prize received for winning the tournament to the account of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.

The sporting triumph was marked by a festive concert featuring masters of the arts of Turkmenistan. The ceremonial events ended with a grandiose fireworks display that lit up the evening sky over the city of Arkadag.

Recall that in the final match of the AFC Challenge League, the Arkadag football club, led by head coach Vladimir Bayramov, won a strong-willed victory over the Cambodian club Svay Rieng with a score of 2:1. The decisive goals for the Turkmen team were scored by Mekan Saparov (59th minute) and Altymurat Annadurdyev (112th minute of extra time).
