The International Novruz Holiday is celebrated all over the world and in Turkmenistan
These days the International Novruz Holiday is celebrated. Its significance is an integral part of the world cultural heritage. As is known, on September 30, 2009, with the support of 24 countries of the world, Novruz was included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. And in February 2010, at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly, at the suggestion of Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan, a Resolution was adopted, according to which March 21 of each year is declared the International Day of Novruz and is now widely celebrated as a holiday that strengthens peaceful relations between states and popularizes the historical and cultural traditions of peoples.
In Turkmenistan, Novruz Bayram is celebrated annually on March 21 and 22 on a grand scale, in every city and in every family. Traditionally, the main celebrations in honor of the national spring holiday take place in the Novruz Valley in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat, where a building in the form of a huge yurt - "Türkmeniň ak öýi" - was erected as a symbol of the ancient traditions of friendliness and hospitality of the Turkmen.
Congratulations on the International Holiday of Novruz! We wish you peace, prosperity and a bright future!
