The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine held a meeting with Professor of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Turanly Fergad Gardashkan oglu

On March 20 this year, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine with Professor of the Department of General and Slavic Linguistics of the Faculty of Humanities of the National University of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Turanly Fergad Gardashkan oglu.

With the historian, Turkologist Turanly Fergad, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Toyly Atayev discussed a wide range of scientific, educational and cultural issues of mutual interest.

As a researcher, in particular, in the field of history and culture of the Turkic peoples, the professor shared ideas and projects in the direction of studying the Sufism movement, its influence on the life and work of the outstanding Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.

In general, the events held in 2024-2025 in honor of the anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fragi were discussed, in accordance with the inclusion of the 300th anniversary of the poet in the List of significant dates that are celebrated jointly with UNESCO during this period. Mr. Turanly Fergad expressed his interest in further participation in them and supporting the Embassy's initiatives in the scientific field.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, in turn, informed the scientist about the events taking place in Turkmenistan and abroad in the International Year of Peace and Trust.
