BRIEFING DEDICATED TO SIGNING OF BILATERAL DOCUMENTS WITH THE SPECIALIZED AGENCIES OF THE UN
On the 4th of April 2019, a briefing dedicated to signing of bilateral documents with specialized agencies of the UN was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, in participation of the representatives of national and foreign mass media and press attachés of the embassies and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.
The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Elena Panova, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Turkmenistan Natia Natsvlishvili, UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan Shaheen Nilofer, as well as the UNFPA Representative in Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic Giulia Valesse gave speeches during the briefing.
During the speeches, it was noted that strategic partnership of Turkmenistan with the United Nations and its specialized organizations is a vital course of peace-loving external policy of the state. As it was noted by the President of Turkmenistan, the United Nations owns the main and decisive role in preserving the foundations of international order on the principles of mutual respect, equality, as well as peaceful and political dialogue.
The speakers also underlined that the origin of strategic partnership lays in the concurrence of long-term goals of Turkmenistan with the aims of the UN, primarily in the context of constructing harmonic and stable intergovernmental relations with the Central Asia, creating strong mechanisms for maintaining regional peace and security.
The signing of bilateral documents between the Parliament of Turkmenistan, relevant state bodies and specialized UN agencies serves as a proof of active participation of our country in the reforms of international scope that provides for consistent social and economic growth of the country.
