THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN LAID THE FOUNDATION OF A MODERN VILLAGE IN THE MARY REGION

April 8, 2026. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for a new village in the Imambaba gengeshlik of the Yolotan etrap in the Mary Region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that the construction of new villages and settlements contributes to improving the well-being of the population and is evidence of the implementation of the country's state policy.

The head of state also announced that the fourth phase of the hisoric Galkynysh gas field project in the region will be launched in the coming days.

The settlement will include 4,500 homes: 2,490 single-story five-room houses and 2,010 single-story three-room houses. In addition, the infrastructure will feature a district administration building, a shopping center, a 500-seat cultural center, a 1,000-seat mosque, a bus station, a water treatment plant with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, a school, a medical center, and a hospital.

The new settlement is designed to accommodate 22,500 residents, aiming to combine rural living with modern urban standards.

The construction of model villages remains a key focus of the president’s socially oriented economic policy.
