International Forum and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026” Underway in Ashgabat

The international forum and exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026” is taking place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan from October 21 to 23, 2026. The large-scale event, organized by the Turkmengas and Turkmennebit State Concerns and the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has brought together more than 1,700 delegates from 75 countries, as well as representatives of over 130 leading international energy companies, relevant ministries and financial institutions.

The exhibition has showcased the technological potential of Turkmenistan's domestic fuel and energy sector, ranging from digital platforms for geological exploration and deep drilling operations both onshore and on the Caspian Sea shelf to environmental innovations and the integration of artificial intelligence. Particular interest among participants has been generated by stands highlighting projects to develop the giant Galkynysh gas field, expand gas chemical complexes producing polymers and mineral fertilizers, and strengthen partnerships with longstanding strategic partners. Special attention has been given to the achievements of many years of cooperation with China's CNPC and Malaysia's Petronas.

The plenary sessions and panel discussions of the industry conference have addressed key issues of global energy security, diversification of energy supply routes (including the strategic Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) pipeline project), attracting investment in the development of offshore blocks, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. The conference programme focuses on natural gas monetization, methane emissions reduction, digital transformation of the industry, and the training of a new generation of highly qualified professionals.
