PRESIDENTS OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE TURKISH REPUBLIC HAVE A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION

On 24th May 2020 President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a telephone conversation.

Cordially greeting each other, the leaders of the two countries exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Oraza Bayramy, wishing prosperity and wellbeing to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Turkey.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed that Turkmenistan and Turkey attached great importance to both bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation within international organizations.

The leaders of Turkmenistan and Turkey exchanged views on regional and global issues, focusing on the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), which had posed a new challenge to humanity. The leaders of the two states called for the consolidation of the efforts of all countries to achieve the victory over the pandemic.

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the holiday - the Ashgabat Day. During the conversation, the parties noted that, despite the current objective difficulties, our countries had continued cooperation in the sphere of transport, in particular, along the Lazurite transit route and agreed to provide instructions to the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries on further development of relations, strengthening the trade and economic component.
