NEW AMBASSADOR OF GEORGIA ACCREDITED IN TURKMENISTAN
On the 6th of March 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in Turkmenistan Mr. Mamuka Murjikneli.
In the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador of Georgia presented the copies of his credentials and expressing his sincere gratitude for the time offered wished well-being and prosperity to Turkmen people.
Then the sides exchanged views on heights reached with the aim of strengthening relations successfully lasting between Turkmenistan and Georgia and addressed the issues of further maintaining and widening them. Also, the priorities of multilateral cooperation in the framework of authoritative international organizations were discussed.
During the negotiations, the sides considered the issues of further development of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic sphere, as well as in the areas of transport, energy, culture and education.
Discussing the topics related to the transport field, the sides agreed to closely cooperate on creating the transport-transit corridors. Special attention was given to the perspectives of establishing the Lazuli project, which encompasses the route of Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey. Mr. Ambassador noted that Georgia actively participates in the implementation of this project.
Stressing the fact of special attention paid by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the development of sport, the sides discussed the perspectives of strengthening cooperation in this direction.
At the end of the meeting, Turkmen side congratulated Ambassador on appointment to this port and expressed readiness to provide its utmost assistance and support to the work of Ambassador on further development of bilateral ties.
