A poetry marathon for World Poetry Day started in Kyiv
On the eve of World Poetry Day, established by UNESCO and celebrated annually on March 21, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, together with Turkmen students studying at Ukrainian universities, as well as representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, launched a cultural initiative – the poetry marathon “Dialogue of Cultures in Poetic Words”
The goal of this project is to popularize the rich poetic heritage and strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties between countries through a dialogue of literary traditions. The young people selected works that resonated most with them, reflecting their personal perception of the poetic word.
Opening the marathon, a representative of the Turkmen diaspora, Arslan Ereshov, presented a poem by the famous 19th- century Turkmen classical poet Gurbandurdy Zelili "It Will Separate from the Soul" According to the reader, the choice of this work was dictated by the depth of its philosophical content, which touches on reflections on the transience of human life, human moral responsibility, and the importance of spiritual values that remain unchanged throughout time.
