OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN SERDAR BERDIMUHAMEDOV TO ITALY

During his official visit to Italy, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace in Rome on Friday.

The meeting discussed issues of strengthening political dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation.

As part of the visit Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the Turkmen-Italian Business Forum in Rome. During the forum, programs for the development of Turkmenistan's energy and infrastructure, which open up significant opportunities for Italian companies, were discussed.

Participants paid particular attention to prospects for cooperation in industry, including the textile sector, agro-industry, and security issues.

As part of his official visit to the Italian Republic, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow participated in the Turkmen–Italian Business Forum.

Following the forum, a ceremony was held to sign a series of documents between representatives of Turkmenistan and the Italian Republic. The signed agreements included:

• a confidentiality agreement between the State Cybersecurity Service under Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Communications and Leonardo S.p.A.;
• a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Communications and Leonardo S.p.A.;
• a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and Marzoli Machines Textile S.M.L.;
• a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and Itema S.p.A.;
• a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and MCS Dyeing & Finishing Machinery;
• a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and Savio Macchine Tessili S.p.A.; and
• a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Energy and Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A.

The forum also featured an exhibition showcasing products manufactured in Turkmenistan.

The successful Turkmen–Italian Business Forum highlighted not only the achievements to date but also both parties’ readiness to expand the scope of their effective partnership.
