A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING IN THE FIELDS OF SCIENCE, EDUCATION, AND HORSE BREEDING WAS SIGNED BETWEEN INSTITUTIONS OF TURKMENISTAN AND UKRAINE
On October 24, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the International Horse breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev and the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
The signing ceremony for a bilateral document on mutually beneficial cooperation in science, education, and innovative technologies was attended via videoconference by Mr. Pygy Bayramdurdyev, Rector of the International Horse breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev, Mr. Vadym Tkachuk, Rector of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, representatives of both agencies and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine.
The signing of this document, which is important for enhancing scientific and educational cooperation between the countries, was preceded by a phased process, including familiarization by the Turkmen side with the educational programs and technical and material resources of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences, which houses the Horse Breeding Educational, Scientific, and Production Laboratory.
The first international academy in Turkmenistan to comprehensively train qualified specialists in equine breeding using scientific approaches— the International Horse breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev and the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, having signed a Memorandum of Understanding, confirmed their interest in establishing partnerships in areas of mutual interest and their commitment to a long-term partnership.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vadym Tkachuk, the rector of the Ukrainian university, noted that the university has all the necessary facilities, including laboratories and equestrian complexes, for breeding horses and developing horse breeding. He invited the Turkmen delegation to see them for themselves.
Rector of the Equestrian Academy Mr. Pygy Bayramdurdyev spoke about the work being carried out in Turkmenistan in the field of equestrian sports and the efforts of the country's leadership aimed at preserving and improving the legendary Ahal-Teke horse breed, developing equestrian sports, and the traditions of Turkmen horse breeding.
The Turkmen side invited their Ukrainian colleagues to participate in various exhibitions and scientific and practical conferences held annually in our country in honor of Turkmen Horse Day.
The parties noted that the Memorandum of Understanding will provide a major impetus for the development of scientific and educational cooperation between higher education institutions of Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
