TURKMENISTAN, UZBEKISTAN, KYRGYZSTAN, AND CHINA LAUNCH NEW MULTIMODAL CORRIDOR

China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan jointly launched a new international multimodal freight route, the southern branch of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor.
The launch ceremony took place on October 15 in Kashgar (XUAR, China), from where seven trucks loaded with electronic goods and equipment departed for Central Asia. The cargo is expected to arrive in Uzbekistan on October 21 and in Turkmenistan on October 24.
The new corridor, which originates in the Chinese cities of Xi'an and Chengdu, aims to diversify freight flows between China and Europe and maximize the transit capacity of Central Asian countries. This step strengthens the region's role as a key link in global logistics and contributes to the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. It's worth noting that the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is an important alternative to traditional logistics routes, linking China with Europe via Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus, and Turkey. The route is gaining popularity due to geopolitical changes and the desire to reduce delivery times.
