TURKMENISTAN PARTICIPATED IN THE 2025 GLOBAL WOMEN'S SUMMIT

A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, Chairperson of the Women's Union, participated in the 2025 Global Women's Summit, which took place on October 13 in Beijing.
The summit's theme was "Common Future: A Renewed and Accelerated Process for the Comprehensive Development of Women."
In her speech, Oguljennet Berdiliyeva emphasized that ensuring women's rights is a priority of state policy in Turkmenistan. The Women's Union of Turkmenistan, as the largest public organization, actively participates in the implementation of national programs aimed at enhancing the role of women in society, promoting gender equality, and strengthening the institution of the family.
The Union noted support for Turkmen women entrepreneurs, as well as the initiation of projects in rural areas, assistance to young professionals in their careers and education, and the development of international cooperation. Thirty years ago, at the Beijing Conference, which brought together thousands of women from around the world, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action was adopted – a document that outlined not only the challenges but also solutions for women everywhere. This document provided a powerful impetus for reforms aimed at improving the status of women in various countries, including Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan is currently actively collaborating with international partners, including the UN and its specialized agencies, to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly in achieving Goal 5 – gender equality.
