DELEGATION OF "TURKMENFILM" PARTICIPATES IN THE "KORKUT ATA" FILM FESTIVAL IN KAZAKHSTAN
On October 1, a grand opening ceremony of the International Film Festival "Korkut Ata" was held in the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan. Filmmakers and cultural figures from Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Kazakhstan walked the red carpet.
The representative delegation of the Oguz Han "Turkmenfilm" Association includes leading specialists in film production—directors, actors, screenwriters, and cameramen. New works of Turkmen cinema will be showcased at the event. Among them are the feature films "Kämillige ýol 2: Erjellik" by Batyr Batyrov, "Kitap" by Hekim Alovov, "Ismim düşdi ilden-ile" by Maksat Gylyjov, as well as the chronicle-documentary film "...Senet däldir, ol sungatdyr" by Sahragul Janmammedova.
Additionally, guests and participants of the festival will be able to see the feature film "Gürgenç gözeli Törebeg" by Vepa Ishangulyyev and the creative work "Ynsan syrdaşy" by director Zulfiya Kadyrova.
The jury for the feature film competition includes Sakhyasalykh Bayramov, Deputy Chairperson of the Oguz Han "Turkmenfilm" Association for Creative Affairs. The documentary films will be judged by Dowletgeldi Hudayberdiyev. The jury will summarize results and determine winners in the categories: "Best Feature Film," "Best Director," "Best Screenplay," "Best Actress," and "Best Actor." A special TÜRKSOY award for "Contribution to Turkic Culture" will also be presented.
The festival opening was attended by Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organization TÜRKSOY, Kurmanbek Zhumagali, Chairman of the Board of the JSC "State Center for National Cinema Support," and popular Turkish actor Burak Ozchivit.
The International Film Festival of Turkic World "Korkut Ata" is an important cultural event aimed at strengthening cooperation, developing cinematography, and familiarizing the global community with the cultural heritage of Turkic peoples. The festival unites countries of the region through cinema and cultural exchange. Prestigious events have already taken place in Istanbul, Bursa, Shusha, and Ashgabat.
