INTERNATIONAL ONLINE-CONFERENCE ENTITLED “MAHTUMKHULI FRAGI AND THE DOCTRINE OF THE SOVEREIGN STATEHOOD OF THE TURKMEN PEOPLE”

On the 26th of June 2021, International Online-Conference entitled “Mahtumkhuli Fragi and the Doctrine of the Sovereign Statehood of the Turkmen People” took place in the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkhuli.

The event dedicated to the Day of the Cultural and Art Workers, as well as the Mahtumkhuli Fragi Poetry gathered the public officials, noble scientists, as well as political scientists and historians from various countries of the world. 

At the opening of the event, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan M.Geldiniyazov read the congratulatory address of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the International Conference. The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan O.Gurbanov was the moderator of the Conference.

At the plenary sessions of the Forum, the Rector of the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkhuli B.Orazdurdiyeva gave a speech, while the doctorate student of the Turkic language Department of the Baku State University of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aynur Matlab kyzy Safarli, Member of two Academies of sciences of France, Senior lecturer at the Faculty of politics at the Institute of Philosophy and social sciences of the Asian society, Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Mirlan Nematov, the Director of the Centre for Central Asian Studies and the Chairman of the Research Center of the Shaikh-ul Aalam of the Kashmir University of the Srinagar city G.N.Khaki, Professor of the University of Delhi of India Sudha Singh, the Professor-Counselor of the Department of Russian language and general linguistics of the Institute of social sciences and humanities of the Tyumen state university, Director of the Center for Turkology Hanisa Alishina, the Chairman of the Deputy Ethics’ Commission of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of Maljisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Barotzoda Fayzullo, Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Turkey-Turkmenistan Association of Friendship Abdurrahman Guzel, as well as the Professor of the National university of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Head of the Society of philosophy of Uzbekistan, Editor-in-Chief of the international magazine “Philosophy and Life” Niginahon Shermuhamedova addressed the audience via videoconferencing.     

The participants underlined that Mahtumkhuli was a noble philosopher who made an immense contribution to the treasury of Turkmen and world literature through his beautiful and deep works of art.   Also, the poems-teachings of the great poet about the sovereignty and prosperity of the country, rules of governing the state, patronage of science and knowledge, charity, respect, generosity, hospitality, and unity reflecting the school of Turkmen people were emphasized.       

Then the Conference continued its work in four sessions. The first session entitled as “The Sovereign State about which Mahtumkhuli Fragi dreamt” and the second session entitled as “The Poetry of Mahtumkhuli Fragi – Source of Inspiration” were held in the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkhuli. 

The third session entitled “Mahtumkhuli Fragi and the Role of Science and Education in the Society” took place in the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

The fourth session entitled “The Poet of All Hearts, All Times, and Whole Human Soul” was held in the International University for the Humanities and Development.

Overall, more than 220 speeches were heard during the sessions.
