POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN THE MINISTRIES OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN AND UKRAINE

On May 6, 2021, the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ukraine were held via videoconferencing. The Turkmen side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.G.Myatiyev, while the Ukrainian side by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Ye.V.Yenin.

During the consultations, which are organized in the framework of the Programme of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ukraine for 2020-2021, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation.

The parties considered the collaboration in diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The subjects related to the legal-contractual basis of bilateral relations were also discussed.

Special emphasis was made on the issues of intensification of trade-economic ties between the two countries. In this regard, the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Ukrainian Commission on Economic Cooperation was underlined. The parties noted the importance of maintaining the contacts between the profile ministries and departments of two countries, including the arrangement of joint events in participation of the representatives of private sector.
