PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

During his working visit to Ankara, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Hacettepe University, where a ceremony was held to confer upon him the honorary degree of Doctor of International Relations.

At Hacettepe University, the distinguished Turkmen guest was warmly welcomed by Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz and the University's Rector, Mehmet Cahit Güran.

In his address, the Vice-Rector of the University highlighted the achievements of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and read out the decision of the Academic Senate of Hacettepe University to confer upon the President of Turkmenistan the honorary degree of Doctor of International Relations.

According to the decision, the honorary doctorate was conferred upon President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in recognition of the firm political will he has demonstrated during his presidency and his support for transforming Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality into an active instrument of peaceful and preventive diplomacy at the United Nations level; his successful leadership of major global connectivity initiatives, such as the Awaza Programme of Action, and regional cooperation and development concepts; as well as his contribution to cooperation between the Republic of Türkiye and Turkmenistan across a wide range of areas, from artificial intelligence and smart agriculture to joint degree programmes.

Following this, in a solemn ceremony, the President of Turkmenistan was presented with the diploma certifying the conferment of the honorary degree of Doctor of International Relations.
