TURKMENISTAN, U.S. HOLD POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS IN WASHINGTON

The 11th round of annual bilateral political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United States took place on August 20 in Washington, D.C.

The Turkmen delegation was led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, while the U.S. side was headed by John Mark Pommersheim, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Turkmenistan–U.S. relations. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the field of security, expanding trade and economic ties, and enhancing collaboration within the C5+1 framework.

Special attention was given to the implementation of joint projects with leading American companies and the potential to expand investment activities in Turkmenistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was noted that regular bilateral consultations have proven to be an effective mechanism for advancing the partnership between Turkmenistan and the United States.
