ANAMJAN RUSTAMOVA BECAME THE JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPION IN WEIGHTLIFTING
Turkmen weightlifter Anamjan Rustamova won the gold medal at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in the women’s 86 kg category. The competition is being held in Egypt.
Rustamova recorded 110 kg in the snatch and 147 kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 257 kg. She also earned a small gold medal in the clean and jerk event.
In the final standings, the Turkmen athlete finished ahead of Linyue Xu from China (256 kg) and Emma Poghosyan from Armenia, who took second and third place respectively with 253 kg.
This is the second medal for the Turkmenistan national team at the current World Championships. Earlier, Didarbek Dzhumabayev won a bronze medal in the 79 kg category.
