KEY ASPECTS OF TURKMEN-JAPANESE COOPERATION WERE DISCUSSED
On December 16, 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation Rashid Meredov and the delegation headed by the Member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of “Itochu Corporation”, President of Machinery and Equipment, Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee on Economic Cooperation Hiroyuki Tsubai.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian fields, as well as the international agenda matters were discussed.
According to the shared opinion of the parties, regular contacts at the highest level serve as a stimulating factor for the development of bilateral cooperation.
Particular emphasis was made on effective cooperation in trade-economic, oil and gas, transport and communications, construction, industrial and electric power sectors, as well as in the field of «green» energy.
The co-chairs of the committees reviewed in detail the progress of the implementation of existing joint projects.
At the end of the meeting, the parties emphasized the effectiveness of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Japan, based on the principles of trust and consideration of mutual interests.
