In connection with the biased reports disseminated by Ukrainian media about Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan declares the following.

The Turkmen side expresses its protest regarding the biased and untrue information that was broadcast on July 8 of this year on the Ukrainian TV channel "FREEДОМ" about the alleged "closedness" of Turkmenistan in the context of access to the Internet.

It is extremely incomprehensible: what right do representatives of the above-mentioned channel, who have no real idea about modern Turkmenistan, have never visited our country, and also have no contacts with representatives of its state and public structures, with their colleagues - Turkmen journalists, have to disseminate such information!

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the TV channel "FREEДОМ" misinforms its audience, transmitting deliberately implausible and distorted information about Turkmenistan.

All this is happening against the backdrop of many years of economic and humanitarian support provided by the Turkmen side to the Ukrainian people throughout the entire period of Turkmenistan's independence.

Thus, since the 1990s, Turkmenistan has been supplying significant volumes of natural gas to Ukraine for many years. In addition, a number of Ukrainian companies have implemented many projects in Turkmenistan in the energy, road transport, communications, infrastructure and other areas worth billions of US dollars during this time. These companies are still operating in our country.

In connection with the above, representatives of some Ukrainian media should remember the high significance and value of such a truism as: "good is repaid with good", and not vice versa.

Based on the above, the Turkmen side demands that the relevant state bodies of Ukraine responsible for information policy take the necessary measures in accordance with Ukrainian legislation to prevent the repetition of the above facts in the future.
