THE AMBASSADOR OF CANADA PRESENTED COPIES OF HIS CREDENTIALS

On January 21, 2025, a meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and the newly appointed Ambassador of Canada to Turkmenistan (with residence in Astana) Christopher Duggan, who presented copies of his credentials.

A.Gurbanov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post and expressed the Turkmen side’s readiness to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic activities.

During the meeting, the parties considered prospects for expanding relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Noting cooperation on international platforms, the interlocutors also expressed their readiness to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives within the UN.

Along with this, the advisability of improving the bilateral legal framework was noted.

Noting the importance of developing Turkmen-Canadian relations, the Ambassador, for his part, assured that he would make every effort to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest.
