A BRIEFING WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT ON COOPERATION WITHIN CARICC

On 12 September 2024, a briefing was held in Ashgabat on “Goals, objectives, achievements and prospects of CARICC as a regional mechanism for countering drug threat”.

The briefing, organized by the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre (CARICC) jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, brought together representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, heads and experts of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova made an opening speech at the event.  She noted that Turkmenistan will continue to actively promote international and regional cooperation in overcoming contemporary threats and challenges, including within the framework of CARICC projects.

CARICC Director A. Yazlyyev and Regional Representative of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime O. Stolpe also spoke at the opening of the briefing.

During the event, the participants heard presentations on the results of CARICC’s work at the regional and international levels, as well as considered opportunities for expanding cooperation on countering international drug trafficking.
