Turkmenistan and the EU expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation

During a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova and Deputy Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service, Audronė Perkauskienė, current issues of cooperation were discussed.

In particular, the parties discussed the results of the “Central Asia-European Union” ministerial meeting held in Ashgabat in March.

Preparations for the upcoming International Forum, scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, and International Neutrality Day, were also discussed.

The parties also discussed issues related to holding the next meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation "Turkmenistan - EU".

Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to further expanding trade and economic cooperation with EU countries. Mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in education, ecology, and transport was expressed.
